On this channel I share video recordings (© Tom Heijnen) that I have made in recent years. In 2013 I started filming in nature after years of shooting only. I was inspired by the beautiful shots that my son Wout made during our joint trips in southern Africa from 2010. As a bird watcher, I mainly focused on birds, but I also increasingly enjoy filming all kinds of life forms. From 2015 I also film underwater during snorkeling and diving trips at home and abroad. I film with Panasonic micro four thirds bodies (currently G80 and G95) with various lenses, including a Panasonic Leica 100-400mm. Underwater I use two Gopro Hero 4 action cameras, one of which is equipped with a macro conversion lens. I film everything by hand (without a tripod), and stabilize the footage afterwards with software. I'm in the process of putting all the clips I find worth watching on the channel. I work from recent to past. The Playlists help you to browse through the hundreds of clips in a structured way.
